After the success of last year’s event the club ran another tournament in memory of the former Hereford United player, Adam Stansfield. This year the format was to be girls only and there were 2 age groups, Under 9 and Under 11’s. The club also arranged a game on the day from some very good footballers from the Ryefield centre.
There were 15 teams in attendance with teams travelling from as far as Bristol and Cardiff to play on the day. The Under 9’s was keenly contested and saw Ross, after winning a semi final penalty shoot out make it to the final to play local rivals Lads Club Tigers. The final went into extra time and Tigers prevailed with a fine goal to win narrowly 1-0.
The Under 11 section saw some excellent football too. The Mardy Tigers team from Cardiff were unstoppable and cruised to the final, where they were beaten by Lads Club Belles.
The trophies and medals were presented by Adam’s parents Roger and Gig who made the journey up from Devon.

Leominster Minors were the recipients of the £100 sports voucher for demonstrating great fair play throughout. The day was a fantastic success with over 500 visitors and money raised for The Adam Stansfield Foundation and Ross Juniors FC. The club would like to thank all parents who helped out an in particular Ross Lions for their continual support.
