The Adam Stansfield Foundation is proud to announce it has
been chosen as the official charity for the Mecure Southgate Hotel in
Southernhay, Exeter for the coming year.
The suggestion to support the Foundation was proposed by the
Hotels fitness centre manager Steve Cockram and
Maintenance Assistant Michael Bereza and voted for by the Hotel staff.
Southgate Exeter General Manager Tim Howes said “We look
forward to working with the Foundation over the next year. Adam was known by
many of our staff, so we wanted to help the charity set up in his memory. It
works to help young people, as well as raising awareness about bowel cancer”.
Several fundraising events have already been organised, and
the hotel recently held a silent auction involving the staff where prizes were
donated by local businesses Health Club members have also arranged a special
fund raising evening..

Parsons expressed her delight with the great start. “Our first event involving
our Health Club members raised £300 and the auction has raised over £900. We
would like to thank all those successful bidders and the generosity shown by
the local business community, our staff, families and friends”.
Auction items included football and rugby shirts, flight
tickets, days out and other sporting activities.
Foundation Chairman Andy Cole added “It is testament to Adam
and his memory that we continue to see support for his charity. We are really
looking forward to working with Tamsyn and the team. The funds raised will
allow us to make a difference for more young people and alert people to the
signs and symptoms of bowel cancer”.
