The Adam Stansfield Foundation UNVEILED AS SAINSBURY’S NEW LOCAL CHARITY PARTNER
• The Adam Stansfield Foundation announced as Sainsbury’s Exeter Guildhall new local charity partner for 2011/2012
• Announcement comes after the store asked Exeter customers to vote for their favourite local charity in May
• The store plans to launch the partnership by Raising money to help the foundation to assist in help young people to play football
• Photographers are invited to attend
The Adam Stansfield Foundation has been chosen as Sainsbury’s new local charity partner Exeter Guildhall for 2011/2012. The announcement comes after the store asked Exeter customers which local charity they should support. Customers were able to vote for their favourite local charity between 4th and 25th May.
The Adam Stansfield Foundation works to support football and promote exercise to the youth of the region and promote bowel cancer awareness. It was chosen as the store’s charity after nominations poured in from customers keen to support a local good cause. Over the next 12 months, the charity will benefit from money donated through fundraising as well as volunteering.
Andy Cole, Chairman of The Adam Stansfield Foundation said: “We’re really excited to be partnering with Sainsbury’s Exeter Guildhall over the next 12 months and would like to thank everyone in the community who voted for us. We will be planning fundraising activities with the store colleagues in the coming weeks and we hope that customers will support the store’s fundraising efforts in the coming months”.
The store plan to launch the partnership with The Adam Stansfield Foundation by holding joint celebration, this will include a presentation from The Foundation and a Quiz. The event will take place on 27/07/2011 at Exeter City Football Club.
Carl Mealey Sainsbury’s Exeter Guildhall store manager, added: The Adam Stansfield Foundation is such a worthy local cause and we’re pleased and proud to be supporting it over the next 12 months. We’ll be letting our customers know of our fundraising plans and we hope they can join our colleagues in helping to support them”.
